ADA — An Ohio Northern University sophomore is taking a dip in the political waters of West Mansifled in Logan County, population 700.

Ian Fogle, 20, was elected as a write-in candidate in November to village council.

“Some people may have seen my age as a barrier,” said Fogle, who is majoring in accounting at Ohio Northern University. “I believe being young and having a fresh perspective are strengths.”

Fogle says being a student/councilman will require much of his time.

“Budgeting my time and keeping my schedule clear to get to the meetings will be vital,” he said.

Fogle says he would also like to continue his political career while utilizing his accounting degree.

“I want to take my major to my career but also keep ties with the political office in my area,” he said.
