Woman’s death investigated
Comments 0 | Recommend 0OTTAWA -- Investigators said they found no indication of foul play in the death of a 48-year-old Putnam County woman who died Monday and was found at the bottom of a set of stairs in an Ottawa residence.
Although Cheryl Weber Heuerman, of Leipsic, fell down the stairs around the time of her death, Putnam County Sheriff James Beutler said she did not die as a result of the fall.
"We know she did not have any life-threatening injuries," Beutler said. "There was nothing unusual. ... A friend found her at the bottom of the stairs. ... She was staying with a friend" in Ottawa.
Beutler said Heuerman's body was taken to the Lucas County Coroner's Office for autopsy and while they haven't had any results, it appears the cause might have been a heart attack.
If the cause of death is not natural causes, he said, it's from an accident and not foul play.
