KENTON - An appellate court upheld the conviction of a former Hardin County deputy treasurer sentenced to four years in prison for stealing nearly $100,000 from the county.
Deanna Polen appealed her conviction to the 3rd District Court of Appeals, which upheld the Hardin County conviction. A jury convicted her of theft in office, tampering with records and one count of forgery.
The prosecution said Polen stole money from real estate tax payments by altering and falsifying records.
