Despite icy conditions no major problems reported for morning commute

LIMA - Area roadways are snow-covered and icy in spots this morning, but despite the conditions, no major problems are being reported.
A steady snowfall has blanketed some area roadways with a light covering of snow. With temperatures in the low 20s in some areas, bridges and overpasses became icy. Area law enforcement dispatchers said for the most part motorists are slowing down for the conditions. As a result, no major problems were being reported.
Dispatchers in Allen, Auglaize, Mercer, Putnam and Van Wert counties reported slick conditions with a few minor slide-off crashes.
The conditions are prompting administrators at a few local schools to delay classes this morning, including Crestview, Lincolnview and Continental.
According to the National Weather Service in North Webster, Ind., the flurries are expected to taper off and conditions will be mostly cloudy with a high just below freezing. There is a chance of rain and snow Wednesday, mostly in the afternoon. Snow is likely Wednesday night with accumulation around 1-inch, the weather service said.
