Juveniles charged in iPod thefts

CELINA

The Celina Police Department is pursuing charges against three juveniles in connection with the theft of iPods from local schools.

A Celina Senior High School student reported her iPod stolen Jan. 20 at the school. Information from a separate incident led to the development of a suspect, and a follow-up investigation at the suspect's Celina home resulted in officers recovering another iPod, which had been stolen from the Convoy area, along with an accessory cover from the iPod that had been stolen from Celina Senior High. Eventually the other iPod was located at Game Stop in Celina and was recovered.

A 15-year old Celina girl faces a misdemeanor theft charge, while two Celina boys aged 15 and 17 face misdemeanor charges of receiving stolen property. A fourth student faces similar charges in the Convoy school system in Van Wert County.

Police said it's likely the juveniles involved will face disciplinary action from the school systems.
