Comments 0 | Recommend 0GROVE CITY, Ohio (AP) - Authorities in the Columbus area say a teenage driver and her two young passengers were killed when their car slid across a highway median and into traffic going in the opposite direction.
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says the three girls were headed east on Interstate 270 just south of Columbus Sunday when their red Chevrolet Monte Carlo went out of control. It wound up in the westbound lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming Dodge Intrepid.
Two of the girls were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred a little before 5 p.m. The third was pronounced dead at a hospital.
Four people from the other car were taken to hospitals in critical condition.
Investigators say alcohol is not suspected as a factor in the wreck.
