Man sues bar/restaurant over alleged assault

LIMAA man and his wife are suing a local bar/restaurant because he said he was assaulted by an employee and other people. Joseph and Denise Spicer filed the lawsuit this month in Allen County Common Pleas Court seeking more than $25,000. The couple named Beef & Bourbon doing business as Twist and Shout at 3801 Shawnee Road, its owners or managers, Daniel, Cheryl and Tracy Risser, and an employee, Aaron Shaffer. Joseph Spicer said he suffered injuries when Shaffer assaulted him while he was a customer of the restaurant/bar. He said the business failed to keep him safe and allowed an employee to assault him causing permanent injuries. He also said others were involved in the assault.No criminal charges were filed in the April 22 incident.
