Honda honors suppliers
Honda honored 10 suppliers that provide maintenance, repair and operational services and products to its manufacturing operations in Ohio and Indiana with its Supplier of the Year award. Honda also recognized another six suppliers with its Special Recognition Award at its annual MRO Supplier Conference.
Included on the Supplier of the Year list this year was Paragon Service and Supply, of Lima. The company is involved in production cutting tools, metalwork tooling, supplies and service.
Panel Controls, in Ada, earned a special recognition award. The company delivered and supported installation of control panels within days of its initial visit to bring a project by another vendor back on schedule.
Special recognition awards reward outstanding project initiatives to achieve and promote innovation.
Blanchard Valley wins three national awards
Blanchard Valley Health Systemís Corporate Public Relations & Marketing Department has been named the winner of three 2013 Telly Awards in the 34th annual Telly Awards competition. The department received two bronze Telly awards for television commercials featuring Birchaven Village and Blanchard Valley Hospital orthopedic services, as well as a Bronze Peopleís Telly Award for the Blanchard Valley Hospitalís orthopedic services television commercial.
The Birchaven Village television commercial and Blanchard Valley Hospital orthopedic services television commercial were conceptualized, scripted and developed by the Blanchard Valley Health System team. This team includes Amy Leach, Amy Jordan, Megan James, Abby Hartman, Mindy Radabaugh and Brian Rader. Video production assistance was given by RG Films of Bowling Green.
The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions and online commercials, video and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world.
Dr. Laura Waldron receives honor
Dr. Laura Waldron was presented the College of General Studiesí Department Chair (Science) Faculty Distinction award from Liberty University Online science team. She distinguished herself among 50 peers in regard to professionalism, student care, spiritual mentorship, online course management and subject-matter expertise.

Aaron Teders, solar analyst for Superior Energy Solutions, LLC, of Ottawa earned the NABCEP certified PV installation Professional.
NABCEP Certification is earned through the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. Professionals who choose to become certified demonstrate their competence in the field and their commitment to the upholding high standards of ethical and professional practice.
Superior Energy Solutions, LLC, provides solar installations for residential and commercial customers plus wind turbines, lighting energy efficiency upgrades and home energy audits across all of Northwest Ohio.
First National Bank associate completes banking school
Brendon L. Matthews, senior vice president and sales director at First National Bank, has graduated from the Paul W. Barret, Jr. Graduate School of Banking in Memphis, Tenn. Matthews was an honors graduate at the ceremony.
The three year curriculum was completed by 54 students.
Paul W. Barret, Jr. Graduate School of Banking has been providing advanced banking education for 41 years, with a curriculum designed to provide a high degree of understanding of all commercial banking functions. During the three-year program, graduates received 125 hours of classroom instruction and prepared in-depth reports in eight areas of study. Approximately 250 financial industry professionals from 20 states participated in the 2013 session.
Mary Rutan Hospital associate appointed to board
James Schwind, director of the care coordination department at Mary Rutan Hospital, in Bellefontaine, has been appointed to the board of directors of the American Case Management Association, Ohio Chapter. His term began May 2013 and will continues through 2015.
The American Case Management Association is the primary association that offers solutions to support the evolving collaborative practice of hospital/health system case management.
As a member of the chapterís board of directors, Schwind will be involved in assisting and supporting the officers of the chapter in planning and development; ensure compliance with bylaws and proper procedures of governance; and represent the members ensuring the priorities, resource allocations and leadership do so with the best interest of the membership from hospital/health care system case management professionals in Ohio.
Schwind has been employed by Mary Rutan Hospital since 1982. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ohio Northern University and obtained his graduate degree from The Ohio State University's College of Social Work. He is a licensed independent social worker in the state of Ohio, holding supervisor designation. He is an accredited case manager and is a charter member of the American Case Management Association.
He and his wife, Linda, reside in Ada.

Travis Elsass has joined the Edward Jones Financial Services office of his father, Randy Elsass, located in St. Marys. Travis will be the second financial adviser in this office.
