Elida teacher receives award
Michael Klaus — a human anatomy, physiology and biology teacher at Elida High School — received a 2013 excellence in teaching award from The College of Wooster. Klaus was one of six secondary-school teachers honored by the college.
The winners were nominated by former students who now are members of the first-year class at The College of Wooster. Students were asked to recommend a teacher who had made a significant contribution to the student’s education and had challenged the student to do his or her best work. Klaus was nominated by Robin Klaus, a 2012 graduate of Elida High School.
Prudential One Realtors recognized for service
Three Prudential One Realtors were recognized for their outstanding service to their customers and industry.
Lisa Quaintance, Craig Kohli and Larry Vandemark were named to the 2012 Prudential One Circle of Excellence.
Kohli also was presented the sales associate of the year award as the top producing agent in Lima, and Vandemark was inducted into the Prudential National Honors Society by being one of the top sellers of residential units in the United States.
Elizabeth West named emerging leader
Dr. Elizabeth West, of Health Partners of Western Ohio, has been named an emerging leader in community health by the Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy of the George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. West has been with Health Partners of Western Ohio since 2008.
West received the award during the National Association of Community Health Centers’ Policy and Issues Form in Washington, D.C.
Emerging leaders are selected by an advisory group comprised of national health center leaders.
Dave Frost nominated to statewide organization
Dave Frost, co-owner of Fidelity Builders Supply in Lima, recently was nominated to chair The Ohio Masonry Association board. The Ohio Masonry Association is a statewide organization that provides support for masonry products and services for architects, planners, constructors and students who will make up the future of masonry.
Joint Township Hospital earns accreditation
Joint Township District Memorial Hospital, in St. Marys, has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging as a result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology.
This accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting the American College of Radiology practice guidelines and technical standards.
Stolly completes term as chairman of the board
Mark Stolly, president of Stolly Insurance Group, recently completed his term as chairman of the board for the Network of Vertafore Users at the 2013 national conference in Dallas, Texas. NetVU provides education, advocacy and networking resources to its 150,000 members represented by more than 17,000 independent insurance agencies in the U.S.
Stolly will continue as immediate past president for the board of directors, responsible for leadership development through 2014.
