Leis joins Grinnell Mutual


Kevin Leis, of Fort Jennings, has joined Grinnell Mutual as a property claims adjuster-inspector in the reinsurance division.


Leis holds a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University, as well as the associate in claims, associate in general insurance and legal principle claims specialist designations.


Leis and his wife, Pam, have three children.


ASSESSMENT


Shawnee Manor achieves high-quality goal


Shawnee Manor achieved a score of 6.0 or better on the Centers for Medicare & Medicare Services quality composite sore for high quality resident care. The quality composite score is a new metric developed to demonstrate the progress and improvements made during the National Quality Care Collaborative.


TRAINING


Associates complete disaster training


Blanchard Valley Health System associates Jodi Fisher and Alicia Saltzman completed training offered by the Center for Domestic Preparedness, which is operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency. Fisher and Saltzman completed the healthcare leadership for mass casualty incidents course which taught participants about fast-paced decision making during mass casualty disasters.


Fisher is the safety coordinator at Blanchard Valley Health System. Saltzman serves as the manager of the Blanchard Valley Hospital Emergency Department.


OTHER RECOGNITION


Ewing to head McComb Family Practice


Dr. James Doone, long-time physician at McComb Family Practice, will be leaving the Hancock County area and McComb Family Practice effective mid- to late-September. Following his departure, the office will remain open, and care will be provided by McComb Family Practice Certified Nurse Practitioner Nicole Ewing.


Ewing has been part of McComb Family Practice for the past two years.
