LIMA — An Allen County Common Pleas Court recently earned a re-certification for its Drug Court and Mental Health Court and Mental Health Court from the Ohio Supreme Court’s Commission on Specialized Dockets.
The Treatment Court, which was initially certified in 2014, received the second certification after submitting an application, had a site visit and provided essential program materials.
After receiving the certification, Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Conner congratulated the court Judge Jeffrey L. Reed.
“Specialized dockets divert offenders toward criminal justice initiatives that employ tools and tailored services to treat and rehabilitate the offender so they can become productive members of society,” O’Connor said in a news release. “Studies have shown this approach works by reducing recidivism while saving tax dollars.”
