BLUFFTON — The Shannon Theater in downtown Bluffton is now back in business after a water line broke on New Year’s Day.
On Monday evening, as employees were getting ready to open the theater, they noticed that the water line was broken, according to the theater’s Facebook page. They suspected that the line broke due to frigid temperatures.
Although they were able to stop the leak, a decision was made to close the theater in hopes of reopening on Tuesday.
By Tuesday morning, M&R Plumbing had fixed the waterline and the theater reopened.
“We have plenty of popcorn ready for today during regular business hours, and the movies at the theater are on as scheduled,” said Dan Stanowick, communications director for Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn Company. “We are back in business after a little frigid morning and frigid temperatures yesterday.”
