FINDLAY — The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio has approved eight hazardous materials training grants totaling $334,550 to state and local government agencies across Ohio, including more than $200,000 for the University of Findlay.


The University of Findlay will receive $218,112 to fund 54 courses on hazardous materials available to volunteer emergency responders throughout Ohio in 2014.


The eight grants will result in more than 2,300 public safety and emergency services professionals being trained to deal with hazardous materials through planning and training.
