AMERICAN TOWNSHIP — A 90-year-old Lima woman was injured in a car accident when she suffered a medical problem Sunday afternoon.
The Allen County Sheriff's Office investigated the single-vehicle injury accident that occurred at 5:03 p.m.
According to the report, Betty Speele, 90, of Lima, was driving north on Eastown Road at the Gomer Road intersection. Speele had a diabetic reaction and ran the stop sign and went into a yard, striking a rock and a tree, doing some damage to the landscape of the residence.
Speele was taken to St. Rita's Medical Center by the American Township EMS to be treated for injuries.
Her condition was unavailable late Sunday.
