Waynesfield-Goshen schools hires new principal

WAYNESFIELD — A former Shawnee principal will take over as the middle school and high school principal at Waynesfield-Goshen schools.

The district hired Becky Diglia at its meeting Tuesday night, giving her a two-year contract. She replaces T.J. Winkler, who left for a principal’s position with the Lima schools after 13 years at Waynesfield-Goshen.

Diglia currently serves as director of curriculum at Lincolnview schools, where she served on a team that wrote a successful Straight A Grant proposal and worked on a one-to-one computer program.

She previously spent eight years as an assistant principal and then principal at Shawnee schools from August 1994 to June 2002. She also taught science, math, English and social studies and coached a variety of sports before moving into a leadership position.

Waynesfield-Goshen board president Dave Pepple said the board was happy to have someone with such diverse experience.

The district also extended Superintendent Chris Pfister’s contract through 2018 and hired Abbie Dellinger as its guidance counselor.
