Fire cause “undetermined” on Fairview Avenue

LIMA — A two alarm fire heavily damages a home in Lima Thursday afternoon.

According to Battalion Chief Jack McDermitt, Lima Fire crews responded to a kitchen fire at 830 E. Fairview Ave. at 3:39 p.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting out of three sides of the two story rental home. The fire also spread to the second floor of the house.

The occupants of the home were not there when the call came in.

Fire investigators have not determined a cause.

Damage to the home and contents is listed at $35,000.
