COLDWATER — A teenager is being held on $1 million bond in the Mercer County jail as the principal suspect in what police say is the murder of a Coldwater woman.

Francy Majo, 19, of Coldwater, was arrested by Coldwater police and charged with murder in the death of Sandra Renner, 47, at a home at 914 N. Elm Street, Coldwater. He is being held in the Mercer County jail.

According to information provided by the Coldwater Police Department, officers were dispatched at 8:41 a.m. Wednesday to the home in reference to a deceased female. Upon their arrival, police found Renner’s body and determined the woman’s death was likely the result of foul play.

The Coldwater Police requested assistance from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

Two search warrants were obtained and executed at two separate residences. Based on interviews with the occupants of those residences, Majo, who resides at 912 N. Elm St., Coldwater, was arrested and taken into custody.

No cause of death was provided by authorities, and there was no indication whether a weapon was involved. Coldwater Police Chief Jason Miller will conduct a press conference at a later date to provide additional information, according to a department spokesman.
