LIMA — A Lima home was struck by gunshots early Tuesday morning in what police believe was a random act of violence.
According to a spokesman for the Lima Police Department, officers were dispatched at 7:43 a.m. Tuesday to 1445 E. Elm St. in response to a report of shots fired into the structure.
Upon interviewing the occupants of the home, 70-year-old Barbara Brookhart and 72-year-old Elaine Harvey, police believe the home was not involved in any criminal activity and was not specifically targeted in the shooting. A car parked in the vicinity of the home was also struck by gunfire.
The women were not injured, and police have no suspects in the incident, the police spokesman said.
