Noon Optimist Club installs new officers

LIMA — The Lima Noon Optimist Club inducted its leadership for the new year. Outgoing President Marcia Hearn oversaw the induction of officers.

Named to fill the positions were Susan Fantz as president, Cindy Nelson as first vice president, Denise Van Dyne as second vice president, Gene Diefendeifer as treasurer, Jenna Schroeder as secretary, and Nanci Carroll as sergeant at arms.

The Lima Noon Optimist Club has been active since 1949 and sponsors the popular Safety City facility and programs, as well as The Youth Orchestra, Toys for Tots, Youth in Government, Youth Appreciation, Trick-or-Treat event, 5K Run event and many other youth programs. The annual Home and Business Expo every March is the club’s major fundraiser to support those programs.

The club meets at the Civic Center every Wednesday at noon for lunch and a program. Guests are welcome to attend and consider membership.
