MARIA STEIN — Winners were announced in various events and competitions held at the annual Maria Stein Country Fest.
Jeff Wolters was the grand prize winner of $2,000 or a $2,500 trip voucher. The second-place prize of $500 went to the Rev. Ken Shroeder, $300 went to Charlene Steinman, $200 to Phil Leubke and $100 to Alfred Luttman. The six winners of $50 each were Karen Schulze, Pat Wehrkamp, Nick Boeckman, Paul Keller and Doris Keisser. P.J. Thobe won attendance prize Sunday.
In the Mercer Health 5K run/walk, Roman Mitchell posted the best time for male runners at 17:28.4. The top female finisher was Kelsey Broering in 21:34.5 Participants ranged in age from 6 to 76.
Punt Pass and Kick winners included 8-year-old winner Alex Keller; 9-year-old winner Thomas Winner, 10-year-old winner Gavin Thobe, 11-year-old winner Mitchell Ranly, 12- year-old winner Aiden Eifert, and 13- year-old winner Josh Kuether.
Poor Boys Tractor Pull winners were:
Antique — Marvin Evers, Duane Evers, Kevin Evers and Dick Heitz.
Division I — Dan Moeller, Carl Post, Dick Rosenbauer, Chris Heitkamp and Joel Weitzel.
Division II — Tommy Carr, Kevin Homan, Russ Marchal and Dick Eilerman.
Mini Indi winners were Brady Kessen, 4; Carson Bruns, 5; and Clayton Koesters, 6. The Diaper Derby winner was Cora Schneider, daughter of Josh and Jenny Schneider. The winner of a gift certificate was Chloe Luebke.
Quarterback Challenge: Coldwater, first; Coldwater, second; Marion Local, third; Fort Recovery, fourth. The top three schools were awarded money.
