Millions of dollars in workers’ compensation rebates coming to area employers

LIMA — The Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will join the Lima/Allen County Chamber of Commerce and local business leaders Thursday to announce millions of dollars in workers’ comp rebates for West Central Ohio employers.

Sarah Morrison, administrator/CEO of the BWC, will join Chamber CEO Jed Metzger and Tony Daley of Spallinger Millwright Services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Chamber, located at 144 S. Main St. The purpose of the meeting is to remind area employers that their “Third Billion Back” rebate checks are in the mail.

Announced in March, the rebate is the third such rebate in the last four years made possible by an “improving safety climate, good fiscal management and strong investment returns,” according to a statement. The plan also includes a $44 million investment in new health and safety initiatives.
