LIMA — One of the co-directors of a local soup kitchen has been charged with kidnapping over an alleged incident at his house on Saturday that involves allegations of a sex crime.
Scott Catlett, 58, of 707 N. Jefferson St., has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Wednesday at Lima Municipal Court. He is being held in jail on a $250,000 bond. Catlett made his first appearance at a bond hearing Thursday at municipal court.
Lima Police Chief Kevin Martin said Catlett is charged with kidnapping but additional charges are possible. He said there is an allegation of a sex crime by a male victim.
The final charges will be up to the grand jury, Martin said.
Catlett was hired as one of the co-directors of Our Daily Bread in April 2015 after the dismissal of Stephen Jenkins. Catlett was previously the site manager for the soup kitchen for six years.
Catlett also is the son of former Lima Police Chief Frank Catlett who retired in 1997 and died in 2010.
