LIMA — Political strategist Karl Rove will be the keynote speaker at the Allen County Republican Party Lincoln Reagan Heritage Dinner March 20 at the UNOH Event Center.
Rove served as senior adviser for President George W. Bush from 2000 to 2007, overseeing the Offices of Strategic Initiatives, Political Affairs, Public Liaison and Intergovernmental Affairs. He was also the Deputy Chief of Staff for policy during his time in the White House. Currently, Rove writes a weekly opinion piece for the Wall Street Journal and is a Fox News contributor.
Described as the “architect” of Bush’s successful 2000 and 2004 presidential campaigns, Rove will bring that experience and perspective to one of the Allen County Republican Party’s largest annual events, along with personal recollections from his time with the president during one of this nation’s darkest days.
“Karl Rove was with President Bush on Sept. 11, 2001, and will give a detailed accounting from the Florida elementary school (where Bush was alerted of the World Trade Center attack) until their return to Washington, D.C.,” Allen County Republican Party Chairman Keith Cheney said. “I’ve had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Rove’s accounting, and it is breathtaking to hear the integral details of the day that changed America.”
The dinner is scheduled for 6:15 p.m. March 20. Tickets are $20 and are available at the Allen County Republican Party office, 3111 W. Elm St., Lima, at 419-331-5655 or email@example.com.
