The church has entered a wonderful new season in the Lord. This is a season where many in the body of Christ will be walking out of their wilderness, a place of great lack, bondage and sickness. In Joshua 5:1-15, the Lord spoke to Joshua to make a knife and circumcise the children of Israel. We know that those that crossed the Red Sea on dry land all died out because of disobedience and rebellion while in the wilderness.
Circumcision is the key for this season, and we must allow the Holy Spirit to cut away those things in our hearts that have hindered our forward progress in the Lord. So many Christians have carried hurts, disappointments, anger and hate for so long. Those things are an open door for sickness and disease. It is time to release the trappings of the past so we will be able to pursue the things of God.
Unforgiveness is most likely at the top of the list ofthings we need to deal with. We are commended by the Lord to walk in love, no matter what. It boils down to this: Do you love the Lord enough to forgive? The spirit of offense is running rampant in the church. We have control over what we allow to offend us or who. It is not worth it; the cost is too great. Offense is a hindrance to the blessings of the Lord and to forward movement and spiritual maturity.
The children of Israel wandered 40 years in the wilderness on what could have been a nine-day journey. Many of us have been doing the very same thing. The Lord is sending deliverance and healing in this season for those who desire it and for those who are in position through the process of circumcision to receive it. Notice in Joshua 5:9, the Lord said He was rolling away the reproach of Egypt (bondage) from his people and He called the name of the place Gilgal (going in circles), which is where many of us are in the church and have been for years. It is time for deliverance and healing in the body of Christ!
Joshua 5:11 gives us an account of the children of Israel arriving in Gilgal and also finding corn, which is a symbol of blessing, harvest and increase. Unleavened cakes are a symbol of the pure Word, no doctrinal error. Now, we have parched corn, which has been out in the elements, sun, rain, snow, flooding for 40 years and now void of moisture necessary for fermenting and increase. The Lord is sending in this season a prophetic word with the anointing to moisturize the old corn which will cause it to increase, multiply and become a great harvest in the lives of believers who have dared allowed the Holy Spirit to circumcise their hearts to allow healing and deliverance to come forth.
We see in Joshua 5:15 that Joshua had a visitation from an angel. After all of this, the Lord sends a representative. Godís army who will go with the children of Israel into the land of promise. Now, this supernatural battle will be raging on behalf of the people to allow us to occupy the land of promise and walk in the blessings of the Lord. It is time! And the word has come forth that we can do just that.
