In the Book of Genesis 12:1, Abram was instructed by the Lord to leave his country, his kindred and his father’s house, to land that he would know later. In return for his obedience, He would make him a great nation, He would bless him, make his name great, He would be a blessing, He would bless those that bless him and curse them who would curse him.
When Abram arrived at his destination which was the promise land, there was a famine there. So Abram erected an altar. This is so significant because an altar is a place of sacrifice. What you are willing to sacrifice will determine what your blessing will be in return. Many people give but it is not a sacrifice.
This altar is a place of commitment, a place of a ratified agreement. This establishes your territory, ownership and it sets the parameters for your property. It lets the devil know that this land is off limits to him. But as believers, we must be willing to give up those things that we may really love, like and/or enjoy for the sake of God’s purpose and plan for our lives. We must be willing to leave some people that we really love for the plan of God.
I can remember so clearly when the Lord spoke to me to move to Haiti and told me to sell my business, my car, many of my clothes, I did not hesitate — they were mere things. But I had to leave my family, friends for a higher calling. This is the altar, where the question before you is this, "how much do you love me?” Do you love Him enough that are you willing to sacrifice for me? There should be nothing that you would not give up if asked by the Lord for the sake of fulfilling the purpose and destiny. God only rewards obedient sacrifice. No sacrifice, no blessing. Little sacrifice, little blessing. If you give it all up, you will receive all, abundant blessings in return.
Every Tuesday morning a small group of pastors come together to pray for the city, the nation and the church. Recently, in prayer, I began to weep I could not stop. Suddenly the Lord spoke to me and said, “The Church is hemorrhaging.” I asked the Lord what we could do to stop the bleeding. He said, “She is bleeding from within from one another.” He said the only way for the bleeding to stop is through repentance and the removal of sin in the church. The first thing I thought about was the woman with the issue of blood. If the bleeding does not stop, the church is in danger of missing this next move of God. We cannot afford to miss this move of the Spirit. We cannot allow this baby to be aborted especially because of sin in the church. Let the cleansing begin.
Recently, we watched in terror as the East Coast was ravaged. In watching the news, I was hoping to have someone say something about God, but not once did I hear anyone even mention God. I did hear however, people mention that they would rebuild bigger and better. Hey, you are not listening. You totally missed the warning. It will take years for things to get back to some normal, whatever normal is. The East Coast got hit twice in the same week. What is it going to take to get the attention of the people?
Second Chronicles 7:14 — we all know this Scripture all too well, but do we really understand it? I believe the Lord is calling the Church back into position, the position of righteousness, back to the place where God can and will heal the land. He said, if my people which are called by my name. He is not talking to the world; He is talking to the church. He's giving us a pattern to stop the devastation and humble ourselves. If we pray and seek His face and turn from our wicked ways, then we will hear from heaven and He will heal our land. There is a great responsibility upon the church to get in the right position, to get rid of the sin. Two of the greatest sins in the church is unbelief and disobedience.
These elections have allowed the resurfacing of one of the ugliest demons upon the earth, racism. There is no place in the church for people hating people when they say they love God who is all pure love. Racism, whose root is pride — thinking you better than another because of race color or creed — is a great deception. We all have been created in the image of God.
In the book of Genesis, Noah preached for 120 years and none received the word of God. They laughed while he was building the ark — that is until it began to rain and they had no shelter from the rain. When the ark settled Noah and his three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, were responsible for restoring all of the families of the world. That means that we all are distant relatives. For those who have accepted Jesus as savior, we are blood relatives again.
The roots of racism are deep and they are taught by other racists. We must spread the love of God no matter what comes or what goes. So we have a black president. He bleeds just like everyone. Underneath that bronze skin we are all alike, and he was made in the image of our God and we are commanded to love him and pray for him. This is this nation's first black president. Until now all people of color had no choice but to vote for a white president. I really didn’t care as long as the will of the Father was being manifested in the land. President Obama is the choice of God and the majority of the people. God has placed him in the White House for this season, so let us pray for him and his family. Let us pray for all in leadership. Let us pray for Israel to the glory of the Lord.
If you are a racist, now is the time to be healed and delivered. By the way, there are racists in all races, colors and creeds of people.
