Snow on my nose and a half-chewed-on mitten;
Cold that has frozen the turd of a kitten.
I love the winter and all that it brings!
These are a few of my favorite things!
-
Sharing my bed with that wussy, the poodle.
Warm, creamy milk with my Kit N Kaboodle.
The ribbons, the tinsel, the lights on the strings.
These are a few of my favorite things!
-
We love the sound of the tree when it crashes!
The sparks from the cord that we chew on…the flashes!
The star on the top or the angel with wings;
Bringing it down is our favorite thing!
-
Christmas tree lights!
Things that cold brings!
Oh the fun we’ve had!
Unluckily some of our favorite things
Can make us feel quite bad!
-
The leftover foods from the cooking and baking
Can cause GI upset and stomachs with aching.
Aluminum foil, when it comes up, it stings.
Yet in it I may find tasty good things!
-
Poinsettias and holly are lovely, however,
They cause irritation to the skin/mouth/whatever.
Because of saponins — detergent-like things —
Please keep these out of our reach as they sting!
-
The liquid potpourri is really nice-smelling!
It covers the hideous stench of our dwelling!
But detergents again in our mouth, on our skin,
Cause ulcers in places they should not be in.
-
Holiday nights!
Smelling good things!
Please, dear Mom and Dad,
Remember that some of your holiday things
Can make us feel quite bad!
-
The tree with the tinsel and bright decorations;
You know we’re not good at resisting temptations.
A hook in the mouth or a string in the gut;
Either could lead to a much bigger cut!
-
Chocolate candies and baked goods are naughty;
They cause us to throw up; to Hershey-squirt potty.
A caffeine-like substance called “theobromine”
Brings hyperactivity and seizuring!
-
Things that look bright!
Foods that taste sweet!
Things that make you glad.
The hazard of some of these holiday things:
They may make us feel quite bad!
