LIMA — Country star Craig Morgan lends his voice to a benefit concert today at Veterans Memorial Civic Center to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.Since breaking onto the music scene in 2000, Morgan has sold more than 1 million records. He is best known for hits including “Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “That's What I Love About Sunday,” and “International Harvester.”His new single, “This Ole Boy” continues to climb country charts on the album of the same name. Along with his music, he is the star and host of the Saturday morning award-winning outdoor show, “Craig Morgan All Access Outdoors.” Additionally, he spent 10 years on active duty with the Army before launching his music career. He continues to perform concerts for the troops, and was one of the first artists to go into Afghanistan.This concert, hosted by radio station 92.1 The Frog, is the final highlight of that station's two-day radiothon to raise money for the children's research hospital. “We're going to present a check for more than $46,000 to St. Jude this year,” said JP Taylor, program director at the Frog.And snagging Morgan for the benefit concert was the icing on the cake.In the past, they hosted concerts with Josh Turner and Little Big Town.“With his new album out, it was a really huge deal to get Craig. I think we're going to draw a good crowd with him,” Taylor said.
