LAFAYETTE — Robert Lee Blake, of Lafayette, will celebrate his 100th birthday Aug. 25, 2013. An open house birthday party is planned from 1:30 to 5 p.m., Aug. 25th, at St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Hall in Bluffton.

He was born Aug. 25, 1913 in Van Wert, to Earl and Della Blake.

Through the past 100 years, Blake has lived through major wars, including World War I, World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War; he has seen 17 presidents come and go in the White House; lived through the horse and buggy stage of transportation as well as the Model A and Model T era; and many decades of advanced technology.

On July 23, 1933, he married Dorothy Siniff. She is now deceased.

They had six children, Paul Eugene (Jackie) Blake, of California, Irena (Ken) Siefker, of Ottawa, Michael Blake, of Celina and Barb (Bryan) Clum, of Lafayette. Two children, Terry (Irene) Blake, of Lima and Margie Kay Blake are deceased. Blake has 25 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. The Blake’s have also supported several foster children through the years.

Blake is retired from Lima Ford Engine Plant.
