This week you’ll find two coupon inserts in your newspaper, a Redplum and a Smartsource. These coupons will go great with some deals this week, as well as upcoming deals.

This week’s lesson is how to shop at the office supply stores. Even if you don’t have an office, it’s always great to take advantage of these great deals. Some items you can get completely free after the rewards, just like at the drugstores.

Staples is a well-known office supply store. Although we don't have one in Lima area, you can earn cash back by using their website.

Staples has a rewards card where you can earn a percentage of your money spent back. It's currently at 5 percent. You can sign up online. This card can be used to get the sale prices and earn a percentage back. They also offer rebates that make many items free or very cheap compared to regular retail pricing. For example, you’ll pay $7 for photo paper and get back a $7 rebate, or pay $24.99 for two reams of paper and get back $12.50, making the final cost only $12.50 for two! This rebate program is called Easy Rebate.

Another office store is Office Max, which is in the Lima area. They have a rewards card called Maxperks. You can sign up for this in the store or online. This will earn you discounts and even free items. You will pay for your items out of pocket and then get back the same amount or sometimes a little less back in rewards. These rewards can be used toward other items, and if you’re lucky, you will earn rewards from those products as well. Some deals are valid online only, but many times it is for free items. Pay a little upfront to get going with these deals and keep rolling those rewards over. This is a great way to save money. It’s very much like the drugstore game.

You can find great deals for both of these stores at www.Hip2Save.com. Click on the tab that says “Stores,” “All stores,” and then pick the store you want.

Deals this week:

Head to Rite Aid this week if you need a Bayer Contour blood sugar meter because they are free! Remember, you will need a prescription to purchase this item. There is a $5 printable coupon available, and you get back a $10 reward. So, here’s your deal: Purchase the Bayer Contour meter for $10, use the $5 printable coupon, and pay $5. Get a $10 reward back. This deal is a $5 money maker!

Shaving cream is on sale for $1.99. Use the buy-one-get-one-free coupons and score shaving cream for just 99 cents each. Pantene hair products are only $1 after coupons. Are your kids fighting colds this season? Check out the deal on cold medicine. You can get Dimetapp or Children’s Advil for $4.99, plus you’ll earn a $3 Up when you purchase two. Use two $2-off Dimetapp printable coupons, pay $5.98, and get your $3 Up. Your final cost is just $1.49 each after you use coupons and get back your reward.

Need detergent? Check out the Arm & Hammer deal. It’s on sale for $3.50, and you get a $3 Up when you purchase two bottles. Limit two rewards per household. This means you can get up to four bottles since the limit is on the reward, not the actual product itself. Your deal scenario for this is purchase four bottles of Arm & Hammer detergent for $3.50 each, which equals $14. Use coupons from this Sunday’s paper or you can print them from www.armandhammer.com. After the coupons and reward, your final cost will be $1.75 per bottle. Not bad for this detergent, and they make this in fragrance free.

Walgreens has several free items this week after rewards. Swimming season is around the corner so grab free Nexcare Waterproof bandages this week. They are on sale for $3.50, and you’ll get back a $3.50 reward. Morton Epsom Salt in a 4-pound bag is on sale for $4, and you’ll get a $4 Register Reward with this deal, making it completely free. You can also get free toothpaste after coupons and rewards this week. There are tons of deals going on this week, and it’s the perfect time to get started or to stock up on a few items.
