This will be a very busy week for coupon deals and promotions in general. There are the regular weekly deals going on, plus Black Friday!
CVS has several free promotions this week. They are free after the store reward you will receive from your purchase, plus some items have coupons with them, which turn these deals into money makers.
At CVS you can do separate transactions, rolling rewards from one transaction to the next, and save lots of money out of pocket this way. Here is an example. You’ll want to start with a cheap item, such as the Glade Plugins scented oil warmer for $1.25, use the $1-off printable Glade coupon to bring your cost down to 25 cents, and you will get back a $1.25 store reward. That’s $1 more than what you will pay, making this a money maker. Next purchase one Carmex lip balm for $1 and a single roll of Charmin toilet paper for 99 cents. You can use a 40-cent Carmex coupon and a 25-cent Charmin coupon, plus the $1.25 store reward from your Glade purchase. You will pay 9 cents for this second transaction and get back $1.99 in store rewards. You can continue this, purchasing more and more. By doing this, it allows you to get those bigger items at a cheaper price. You may not need any of those little items, but if it brings your out-of-pocket cost down on the items you actually want, it’s worth it. If you don’t need these items, you can donate them.
Black Friday is coming up soon. Some stores are starting their Black Friday promotions as early as 8 p.m. Thanksgiving Day. You’ll want to buy a copy of The Lima News special Thanksgiving Day edition, as it's full of ads. Additional promotions and online deals will be posted Wednesday and throughout the weekend as they become available. Some promotions are available for a limited time in-store only or online only. You can earn cash back on most online purchases. Step by step shopping details will be available at www.stephaniesavings.wordpress.com to help you save the most during your holiday shopping.
Walmart also starts Black Friday at 8 p.m. Thursday. During Event 1 they will have Xbox 360 4GB SkyLanders bundle for only $149.99, and a PS3 bundle for $199. Video games will be $10, $15 and $25 each. Blu-ray movies will start at $3.96, plus there are some printable coupons available. Kids ride-on cars will be $89 to $149. Get a Nikon D3000 digital camera and lens kit for $449. More deals will start at 10 p.m. Thanksgiving, such as an Emerson 50-inch LCD HDTV for $239 and more.
Toys R Us deals also start at 8 p.m. Thursday. They will have coupons available in their ad this Thursday, so watch out for those.
Department stores will have several good promotions on clothes, household appliances and more. Sears is offering coupons in their ad for $10-to-$15-off a $40 purchase or more. They also have several appliance deals including a Kenmore Elite Washer and Dryer for only $649.99 each. These are normally more than $1,400 each. Check out Kohl’s as they will have many great deals and for every $50 you spend, you’ll get $15 Kohl’s cash, and several rebates on their items.
How to Coupon:
With Thanksgiving coming, I wanted to share with you how I save money on Thanksgiving dinner. Thanksgiving does not have to cost you a bundle if you plan it out, follow store promotions, and use coupons. You will want to check out store promotions that give you money off a turkey when you purchase other products. For example, some stores may have a promotion that says, “Get $9 to $17 off a turkey when you purchase $25 in additional items.” The best part about this is that $25 is the pre-coupon price at most stores. So, you can get $25 worth of products, use coupons to bring your total down so you’re not actually spending $25 on those items, and still get money off the turkey.
