First lady Michelle Obama chose a flowing, one-shouldered ivory silk chiffon gown with silver thread embroidery and Swarovski crystal rhinestones for her first inaugural ball appearances. The designer, Jason Wu, was 26 when Obama selected his custom-made creation in 2009. Here, the Obamas entered the Neighborhood Ball for their first official dance in January 2009.
