This week we get two coupon inserts, one Redplum and one Smartsource. Both have excellent coupons in them with everything from toys, beverages, cleaning products, candy, hot chocolate and more. It’s a good week to grab a few newspapers.
Lima has a new store called Ruler Foods located by Toys R Us. I spoke with one of the store managers, of course, asking about their coupon policy. I couldn’t get an official policy at this time, but the store does accept coupons. They must be manufacturer coupons. No competitor coupons allowed. This should help everyone save with their already low prices.
CVS has a good deal on M&M holiday candy. They are on sale four for $10. You can use the $1-off-two M&M coupon found in last week’s Redplum insert or use the printable coupon. Pay $8 and get back a $3 ExtraBuck reward. Your final cost is $1.25 per package. You will earn a $5 ExtraBuck reward when you purchase a Gillette Proglide razor. There is a coupon in last week’s Redplum where you can save $10 off a Proglide razor when you buy a package of Gillette disposables. You should be able to find disposable razors for around $7. The Proglide razor will only cost a few dollars after the $10 coupon is used, plus you’ll get a $5 ExtraBuck back. In all this should make cheap razors, which are great stocking stuffers! Need dishwasher detergent? Check out this deal! Purchase three Finish Powerball or Gel Pacs for $4 each, use three 50-cent off one Finish coupons, pay $10.50, and get back a $4 ExtraBuck reward. Your final cost is $2.16 per pack. If you spend $30 on select Scott products, Cottonelle and Kleenex, you’ll earn a $10 ExtraBuck reward. You can find coupons at www.scottbrand.com.
This week at Rite Aid you can get Kellogg’s cereal for $1 per box. Select Kellogg’s cereal is on sale two for $5, plus you will earn a $2 Up reward when you purchase two boxes. This is a limit of two rewards per household. Here’s your deal: Purchase four boxes of Kellogg’s cereal, use two $1-off-two Kellogg’s coupons from the Nov. 11 Redplum insert, and pay $8. You will get back two $2 Up rewards. Your final cost for all four boxes is $4 or just $1 each. There is a new Kellogg’s rewards program available where you can earn points for purchasing Kellogg’s products. Those points can be redeemed for products, coupons, etc. You can sign up for this program at www.stephaniesavings.net. This week you can get several Christmas decorations at Rite Aid for 50 percent off regular retail. If you need 3M Command products, check out their deal this week. They are buy one get one 50 percent off, plus when you buy $10 worth you will get a $3 Up reward. In addition to that there are printable coupons for 3M products available.
Question of the week:
Question: Why do you only write about deals at drugstores?
Answer: The drugstores often have the best deals. I provide deals for other stores as well, but I do not have the sale ads until closer to the weekend. (The deadline for this column is early in the week.) The deals for other stores such as Kroger, Meijer, Aldi and Ruler Foods can be found at www.stephaniesavings.net.
How to coupon:
When are the best times to buy certain products? There are usually coupon deals for the same type of products such as diapers, detergent, toilet paper, hair products, etc. However, there are actually certain times of the year to buy products at their lowest prices. This works well for items that you wouldn’t have a coupon for, like Christmas decorations. They will be 50 percent off at most stores starting the day after Christmas. If you’re lucky enough, within a few days you can find some for as high as 90 percent off. You can do this with any holiday. I’ve never paid full price for my decorations and have always gotten them at huge discounts. Clearance aisles are my favorite place to shop for non-coupon items. You can find toys, bedding, decorations, storage systems, and much more. There are certain times throughout the year when products are at their lowest prices. December is the best month to get ham, cookies, frosting, nuts, dried fruits, winter clothing, toys, cars, computers, and much more. Most items are holiday items, and this is when they will be at their lowest price. To see a complete list for each month, go to www.stephaniesavings.net.
All deals mentioned in this column are provided with current knowledge of deals and coupons available. All are subject to change without notice. Stores reserve the right to limit sales.
