How to Coupon Online:
This weekís lesson is how you can save with coupons online. Yes, there are coupons for online shopping. Some websites will have you enter a code. Some codes are universal, meaning everyone can use the same code for the same discount. Others are unique and can only be used once. You can get free items online just like you can in the stores. However, these tend to be larger items or different types of items versus getting free dental or cleaning products. Online you want to aim for good discounts on bulk purchases, diapers, wipes, floor cleaning machines, name brand clothing, higher end items, as well as some free items and free samples. There are tons of ways to save online.
An important way is to use a search engine that pays you to use it. This will earn you points and those points can be turned into cash or gift cards. Youíll also want to pay attention to store deals online. Many stores have an actual store you shop at and an online store. The online stores differ from the store you actually go into. They offer exclusive online discounts and savings. Most stores will also provide you with free shipping if you have your item shipped to the store and you pick it up. Also, be sure to participate in any rewards program that is offered by the store both in store and online.
Kohlís for example has promotions several times a year where you can get up to 30 percent off your purchase by using your Kohlís credit card, plus they will give you $10 Kohlís Cash for every $50 you spend. They also take manufacturer coupons. The Kohlís cash is counted after the discount but before any manufacturer coupons are used. This makes it easy to save on several items and gives you a chance to pick up a few other items a few weeks later with those rewards. Kohlís Cash can be earned and redeemed both online and in-store.
Old Navy has a promotion out frequently where you can spend $25 and receive a coupon for $10 off your $25 purchase. This makes getting clothes at Old Navy cheaper. They also have a program with their Gap card (that can be used at Old Navy) where you can earn credits back. For example, if you spend $100 you get back $5. It doesnít seem like much, but every little bit adds up and counts towards saving.
Great deal to watch for this week:
CVS has Motherís Day promotions going on. You can scan your CVS card at the coupon center to earn $5 off a fragrance purchase of $20, your choice. Some are on sale for buy one get one free. Check out the awesome deal on gift cards. If you purchase a $50 gift card from CVS for another store, youíll earn a $10 extrabuck reward. This goes great with both the Kohlís and Old Navy rewards.
Hereís how it works. You can purchase a $50 Old Navy or Kohlís gift card at CVS this week and receive a $10 extrabuck reward. That $50 gift card is actually costing you $40, so you have already saved $10. I highly recommended saving these gift cards for when the stores run their reward promotions. For example, if you use a $50 Old Navy gift card during their spend $25 get $10off $25, you will earn two of those $10-off $25 coupons. Plus, instead of paying $50 for your purchase it will only cost you $40 and you will save $20 on your next $50 purchase. So, in all you will pay $70 for items that would have cost you $100 without following the discounts and rewards.
If you purchase the Kohlís gift card you may want to hang onto that until there is the 30 percent off plus Kohlís Cash promotion happening. If you are shopping online, you do not have to charge your Kohlís credit card. You will need to enter your card number, but if the gift card covers the full amount your card will not be charged. Anything left after the gift card will be charged to your Kohlís credit card. Just like the Old Navy deal, the Kohlís gift card will only cost you $40 after the reward, and youíll earn $10 Kohlís Cash during special promotions. Youíll get $50 worth of stuff for $30!
