RICHLAND, WA — Mr. and Mrs. Bernard McClain of Richland, WA will celebrate 75 years of marriage June 9, 2013. A reception will be held at Riverton Retirement Home that afternoon. A large family reunion is planned in Wapakoneta in August, where both have numerous extended family.
McClain and the former Gladys Vorhees were married on June 9, 1938 in Lima.
They are the parents of two sons, Dennis McClain of Redwood City, CA and Fred McClain of Fort Wayne, IN; and one daughter, Linda Bauer of Kennewick, WA. One son, Bernard McClain Jr., is deceased. They have seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
McClain served in the Army during World War II and is retired from the State of Indiana. His wife was a housewife when the children were small, and is retired from Seifert Potato Chip Company in Fort Wayne, IN.
