Betty and Allen Layman

LIMA ó Mr. and Mrs. Allen Layman, of Lima, celebrated 60 years of marriage April 18, 2013. A family celebration was held and an open house was held yesterday at the Orange Township House, in Bluffton. The couple request that gifts be omitted.

Layman and the former Betty Wagenknecht were married April 18, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church, in Petersburg, MI, by the Rev. Robert Blacka.

They are the parents of two sons, Paul (Cindy) Layman, of Lima and Kenny (Julie) Layman, of Spencerville; and four daughters, Sandy (Mark) Swaney, of Wapakoneta, Linda (Rodney) Geiger and Wendy (Josh) Gaines, both of Lima and Kathy (Tim) Henry, of Bluffton. They have 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Layman is retired from Alís TV & Stereo and Rite Aid. His wife is retired from Chase Bank.
