CARLSBAD, NM — Mr. and Mrs. Don Miehls, of Carlsbad, N.M., will celebrate 61 years of marriage June 28, 2013.
They were married June 28, 1952, in Van Wert.
They are the parents of two sons, Brent (Helen) Miehls, of Woodland Hills, Calif. and Dennis (Janet) Miehls, of Carlsbad, N.M.
Miehls served in the Navy in the South Pacific. Upon his discharge he worked in highway construction until enrolling in college to earn his business degree. While living in Lima, Miehls was employed by Montgomery Ward as a manager trainee in the Lima store. After moving to Carlsbad, N.M., he and his wife opened the Fountain Supper Club in 1967. The movie, “The Honkers” was filmed in Carlsbad, and the Fountain Supper Club was used as their headquarters. The Fountain Supper Club closed, and now the Miehls’ time is used to pursue the development of the exclusive Fountain Hills Subdivision where they are now living.
