LIMA — Two touring holiday shows are being staged at Veterans Memorial Civic Center this week. “A Charlie Brown Christmas” is Monday, and “Carol of the King: The Irish Dance Christmas Spectacular” is Thursday.
“It’s very affordable. We wanted to make sure we kept the ticket prices very affordable. You have tickets available for Charlie Brown as low as $19 and tickets for Carol of the King are only $18 or $26, so we really wanted to keep these Christmas offerings affordable for the family,” said Abe Ambroza, CEO of the Civic Center.
The Charlie Brown Christmas follows the traditional animated story as seen on TV.
Carol of the King The Irish Dance Christmas Spectacular features an Irish dance to a holiday soundtrack.
“It’s what you’re expecting with an Irish dance. So it’s an Irish dance troupe. They have lightning fast hard shoe rhythms and graceful soft shoe jigs to an epic orchestral soundtrack. It’s a big light show, there is an impressive stage set up for that one, it’s kind of flashy and exciting and should be a high energy performance,” said Ambroza.
Ambroza feels both shows are fit for the entire family to see.
“When we had an opportunity, we already have great holiday traditions with Ohio Northern’s shows and with the symphony with their show, and we wanted to be able to add a few with ours as well as another option. We were excited to be able to add this year,” said Ambroza.
