VAN WERT — The sibling group The 5 Browns take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
“This is their second time at the Niswonger. The first time they came it was a really well-received concert,” said Tafi Stober market director at Niswonger Performing Arts Center.
The talented siblings were trained at Julliard. They have appeared on “Oprah” and “60 Minutes.”
“There will be five baby grand pianos and they just pick apart a song beautifully and masterfully and it’s really incredible to see. They take more modern music, because their purpose is to inspire new generations into classical music, so they take some modern songs and actually make them classical,” said Stober. “They are fascinating.”
Stober likened the show to a dueling piano show, only with five of them going at the same time.
“They all play at the same time on these pieces, that’s what makes it so neat. They just destroy those pianos, to watch their hands at work is uncanny,” said Stober. “You can’t help but come away inspired by the magnitude of their gift. It’s definitely a show for everybody.”
The Ohio Music Teachers Association is in part sponsoring this concert and will be in attendance.
