Comedy show tonight at K. of C.
LIMA — There’s no room for fear or gloom this Friday the 13th at the Knights of Columbus. Tonight’s comedy show will keep folks laughing their cares away.
“I’m not superstitious, personally. And this date is when our performers could both be here, so it just worked out this way. But we definitely thought of Friday the 13th,” said Phil Myers, club manager at the K of C.
The comedians working their schtick for the crowd are both associated with the Bob and Tom radio show, and each have played Lima before.
“Patti Vasquez is out of Chicago, so she has that big-city flair. And Jeff Oskay isn’t on the show, but he’s a writer for the show. We’ve had them both here before, and they were both well received,” Myers said.
And for those who have purchased tickets for the event, Myers promises a night of good, clean fun.
“This is a chance to forget everything about the economy or all the gloom we hear about, and just sit back and have a few laughs. Forget everything outside,” Myers said.
The idea for a comedy night started a few years ago, and since then the bi-annual events have been big crowd pleasers.
“We wanted to try something that’s not done locally. And we have a wonderful venue for this sort of offering. We have a lot of room, and the comedians can easily be seen and heard. All seating is reserved, so there’s no confusion. We want everyone to have a chance to sit back and enjoy themselves.”
