There are plenty of festivals to check out this weekend. Here are some ideas:
LIMA — The Greenfield Heights 2013 Neighborhood Block Party will be today and Saturday at the neighborhood, at Cedar and Fifth street. A meet-and-greet will be 9 p.m. to midnight today at Callahan’s, the former Skyline on Spring Street. The party continues Saturday with an opening ceremony at 1:30 p.m. at the corner of Cedar and Fifth. Bring a lawn chair and stay for the party, which closes at 8 p.m.
CELINA — The 13th annual Bar Stool Open begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Grand Lake St. Marys. Join a team to compete in various ways, from 13-hole mini golf at several bars around the lake, and pontoon decorating and a T-shirt contest. For details, visit www.lakeimprovement.com.
PANDORA — The Riley Creek Festival is 5 to 9 p.m. today in Pandora, featuring carnival games, a farmer’s market, car and tractor shows, food stands, and an outdoor movie at dusk.
FINDLAY — The Flag City Balloon Fest is today through Sunday at Emory Adams Park. There will be a kids fair, food vendors, beer tent, balloon rides, a car show, a cornhole tournament, and fireworks planned for 10 p.m. Saturday. Although they’ve been allowed in the past, pets are not allowed in the park this year.
ST. MARYS — The St. Marys Summerfest is today through Sunday throughout town. This year is the 30th anniversary. Today’s events include sidewalk sales, a cruise-in and bands at night. Saturday’s events include a 5K, a barbecue cook-off, sidewalk sales, kiddie rides, a disc golf tournament, a parade at 4:30 p.m., and the Earthquakers at 9 p.m. Sunday’s events include a cornhole tournament, a kiddie tractor pull, a duck race, bands, and fireworks at 10 p.m.
NEW BREMEN — Bremenfest is tonight through Sunday throughout town. There will be beer, food, bingo, pageants, games, a chili cook-off, a car show, crafts for kids, bands, mud volleyball, historical tours, a fishing derby, a dodgeball tournament and plenty more. Nashville Crush plays Saturday night, and the Danger Brothers play Sunday night.
INDIAN LAKE — Party at the Beach will be Saturday at Old Field Beach, Indian Lake. The beach is closed to the public that day. Gates open at 11 a.m., with $15 admission. Ron Perky plays at 11 a.m., the Danger Brothers play at 1 p.m., and the Menus play at 5 p.m.
