Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Here’s the short list of places to go and events to check out in the area.
Bellefontaine: Savage Race comes to Mad River all day Saturday. This 5.6-mile obstacle run includes 25 obstacles, mud, fire and barbed wire for registered contestants to forge.
Bluffton: The 46th Festival of Wheels goes on Friday in downtown Bluffton. A cruise-in begins at 2 p.m., with the cruise down South Main Street starting at 8 p.m.
Buckland: The Buckland Fireman’s Festival kicks off with a 9 a.m. 5K on Saturday, starting and ending at the Buckland Volunteer Fire Department. The popular chicken barbecue begins at 11 a.m. Afternoon events include a cornhole tournament, the T-102 Country Star Playoffs, and prize drawings. The grand prize drawing is at 11 p.m.
Indian Lake: It’s the Turkeyfoot Benefit Crew Parade and Auction, beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday on Turkeyfoot. The parade begins at 11 a.m., followed at 1 p.m. by an auction.
Lake Loramie State Park: The fourth annual “Old Boats, Motors and Fishing Tackle Reunion” goes on from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Earl’s Island Pavilion, off state Route 362 in the park.
Ottawa: Summerfest in the Park will be held Saturday in Ottawa Memorial Park on Locust Street in Ottawa. Live music by Al Felkey’s Mixed Up Band from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., followed by Johnny Rocker and the Hitmen from 8:30 to11:30 p.m. Food, beverages and raffle items. Proceeds for park improvements. Free admission.
Rockford: Join Rockford Community Days, starting at 3 p.m. Friday and running through Saturday. Events include weiner dog races, demonstrations, raffles, entertainment and a parade.
Wren: It’s rock and roll in Wren at the annual Wren Stock, an outdoor concert starting at noon Saturday. Performers include 100 Proof, Double Kik, The Birch Band and Boomswang. $15 admission. Bring your own lawn chair. Also, beverage garden and food sales.
