LIMA — Think all the game-day explosions happen in Columbus on Saturday? Think again.
Allen Lima Leadership will host the second annual “Danger Gate” on Saturday for the OSU-Michigan State game, in the Schmidthorst Pavilion at the Allen County Fairgrounds.
“We’re calling this a high voltage rock and roll event. We encourage people to come ready to party,” said Micki Vollmer, of ALL.
In fact, if history repeats itself, the pavilion could hold almost 1,000 fans for the party.
“It’s just one big tailgate party. The people who attended last year had a wonderful time, so we’re doing it again. We’ve got the Danger Brothers back, we’ve got food from Westgate, we’ve got beer and pop, and we’re ready,” Vollmer said.
New this year will be an LED screen showing the football game. “Because this is an afternoon game, we wanted to get a clear picture with little glare,” Vollmer said.
Fans can cheer from the 3:30 p.m. kickoff throughout the game then stay to party just a little longer.
“The Danger Brothers start playing at 2 and play until kick-off, they play at half-time, and they play again after the game,” Vollmer said.
Although early forecasts call for a beautiful day, Vollmer said the weather will not be an issue at this party.
“We’re under cover, so we party no matter. We enjoy this, and we hope to keep growing this every year in this outdoor venue,” she added.
