John Kenneth Zuber

Coldwater

John Kenneth Zuber, 76, died Nov. 15, 2009, from injuries suffered in an accident at his residence.

He was born Jan. 19, 1933, in St. Marys to Kenneth and Mary Fisher Zuber, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 4, 1954, he married Lorene A. Guingrich, who survives. They were married for 55 years.

Mr. Zuber was a 1952 graduate of Celina Senior High School. He was an Army veteran serving during the Korean War. He worked for several years at Amaco, Celina, Coldwater Grain North, Rockford, and as a truck driver for Helena. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Coldwater, where he served on several committees and spent much of his time helping out. He was a member of American Legion Post 241, New Bremen, and the Neighborhood Farm Bureau Counsel.

Survivors also include a son, Gary (Cathy) Zuber, of Beavercreek; two daughters, Christine K. (Mark) Nagel, of Wapakoneta, and Donna L. (Mark) Brown, of Englewood; a sister, Mary Florence (Bill) Eichar, of Bradenton, Fla.; a son-in-law, Jeff Piper, of New Bremen; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorna Piper; and a grandson, Nicholas Piper.

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Coldwater. Bruce Bair will officiate. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery, Wabash.

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cisco Funeral Home, Celina.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
