Wilma Jean Moritz
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LIMA - Wilma Jean Moritz, 81, died at 10:10 p.m. Oct. 9, 2009, at Richland Manor Nursing Home, Bluffton.
She was born March 11, 1928, in Allen County, to William and Minnie Salisbury Zimmer, who preceded her in death. On July 17, 1946, she married Donald J. Moritz, who survives in Lima.
Mrs. Moritz was a homemaker and had previously worked as a secretary at Allen East high School. She was a member of St, Luke’s Lutheran Church of Lima where she was a member of the Martha Circle and Altar Guild. She was a graduate of Lafayette-Jackson High School class of 1945. She was a charter member of the Dozen Cousin Bunco Club. She served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader in Lafayette and was a volunteer at the Allen County Home.
Survivors also include a son, Joseph F. (Leola) Moritz of Lafayette; a daughter, Jane (Robert) Williams of Harrod; five grandchildren, Robert (Shawnna) Moritz, Richard (Dara) Moritz, James (Alison) Williams, Stacey (Kurt) Klingler and Angela (Nathan) Baxter; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Fritz Zimmer; and five sisters, Lucille Bowsher, Ruth Kinstle, Rosa Bowsher, Dorothy Moser and Iva Ball.
Services will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lars Olson will officiate. Burial will be in Ward Cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Lutheran Church.
