Joe Allen Williams

Joe Allen Williams, 83, died at 6:43 a.m. Sept. 30, 2009, at his residence.

He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Lafayette to Clyde and Pearl Wilson Williams, who preceded him in death. On Nov. 16, 1946, he married Margarite V. Szouz, who survives.

Mr. Williams retired from Vistron/Sohio Petro Chemical, and also had retired from Spanish Cove, Lillian, Ala. He was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Free & Accepted Masons in Lillian, Ala. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and loved square dancing, boating and camping. He was devoted to his family.

Survivors also include three children, Joe Williams, Sandy Robbins and Randy Williams, all of Lima; 10 grandchildren, Heather Fetterly, Melanie Robbins, Brian Robbins, Lisa Dotson and Adam Kline, all of Lima, Barbie Steinke and Trinity Vetter, both of Wapakoneta, Shane Williams, of Delphos, Zack Williams, of Columbus, and Ryan Williams, of Cridersville; and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Chastity Budwig; and three siblings, Donald Williams, Evelyn Bowyer and Dorothy Bishop.

Memorial services will begin at noon Saturday at Woodlawn Baptist Church. Pastor Dave Stanford will officiate. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery.
