Cletus B. Wehri
Kalida
Cletus B. Wehri, 75, died at 7:35 p.m. Oct. 14, 2009, at his residence.
He was born July 25, 1934, in Kalida to Frank and Mary Miller Wehri, who preceded him in death. On Aug. 4, 1956, he married Dolores Schimmoeller, who survives in Kalida.
Mr. Wehri retired from Philips ECG, Ottawa, after 33 years. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida, and its Holy Name Society. He was a member of the Kalida Knights of Columbus and the Quarter Century Club. He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed woodworking. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two daughters, Deb (Chuck) Burgei, of Ottoville, and Donna (Ted) Schnipke, of Cloverdale; a son-in-law, Tom (Doris) Warnimont, of Miller City; nine grandchildren, Aaron (Renee) Burgei, Jeremy Warnimont, Rae-Ann (Ben) Sanders, Emily Brown, Matt Schnipke, Deanna Schnipke, Kyle (Justine) Warnimont, Adam Schnipke and Sarah Warnimont; five great-grandchildren, Hali, Alexis, Chelsi, Kara and Jaxon; a brother, Hubert (Joyce) Wehri, of Kalida; seven sisters, Margaret (Roman) Eickholt, of Cridersville, Rosemary Clementz, of Kalida, Lucille Schroeder, of Glandorf, Agnes Ulm, of Delphos, Jean (Nub) Boecker, of Ottoville, and Joan (Dick) Seimet, of Ottawa; and five brothers- and sisters-in-law, Velma Wehri, of Delphos, Bob Kaple, of Ottoville, Loreen Kaufman, of Montpelier, Bob (Joanie) Schimmoeller, of Kalida, and Kenny Schimmoeller, of Lima.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Warnimont; a brother, Gilbert Wehri; three sisters, Leona Youngpeter, Louella Wehri and Mary Ann Kaple; and seven brothers-in-law, Eugene “Jim” Clementz, Ferdi Dickman, Joe Clementz, Rudy Schroeder, Bill Ulm, Gerald Youngpeter and Jim Schimmoeller.
Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. Father Mark Hoying will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Jackson Township, where a Scripture service will be held at 3 p.m. and a K. of C. rosary service at 7 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
