Letter: Consider safety instead of texting while driving
Again and again, I see it happen or hear about talking or texting on cell phone while driving. My oldest son nearly got hit here in Ottoville over the weekend. He had the right of way at a three-way intersection. A driver who was there went first when it should have been my son’s turn. A second driver, who was behind other driver, went straight on, not paying attention. That vehicle was to stop, as another driver had the right of way. The driver was on the cell phone.
My other son last summer was nearly hit twice by the same girl in his neighborhood. He had to swerve so as not to get hit by her car. Again, she was on her cell phone both times.
I hope the Ohio General Assembly passes a law soon for no texting while driving.
Please think about not being on your cell phone while you are driving. Just pull off the road into a driveway. I went to one funeral of a relative being unable to control the car while on a cell phone. I hope I never have to go again.
