Wannemacher Enterprises expanding, adding 12 jobs
LIMA — It’s welcome news in the current economy. A local business is growing.
Wannemacher Enterprises owner Greg Wannemacher told Allen County commissioners on Wednesday that his trucking, warehousing and logistics company is adding 100,000 square feet and 12 jobs.
He is obtaining an enterprize zone agreement with the county, Perry Township and Perry Local Schools for property tax discounts on the facility at 400 E. Hanthorn Road.
“It enables us to bring in more product, more throughput through the building. Our customers continue to ask us to do more,” Wannemacher said. “With this expansion we’ll actually be able to get into some export business.”
He credited the company’s 95 employees for driving the growth through good work and said now is a good time to find some more good employees.
“We feel right now there’s some good people looking for work,” he said. “We think it’s a good positive for us and a positive for people. You can get some experienced people who are out there looking.”
Greg and Donna Wannemacher purchased the business in 1991. The Hanthorn Road facility was built in 1997 at 100,000 square feet. In 2003 it expanded to 181,000 square feet and to 251,000 in 2006.
