Having your say
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Today is last day to register to vote in Nov. 4 election
Four weeks from tomorrow, Americans will select their next president. If you're not registered to vote, today is the last day you'll be able to do so.
Anyone who wants a say in the direction the country or the local community moves should exercise that right. If you don't vote, it's pointless to expect politicians to take your concerns seriously. If you don't register, you can't vote.
We'll be electing more than just a president come Nov. 4. Allen County voters will choose a new sheriff after four terms of Dan Beck. Commissioners' races will take place in Allen County and elsewhere in the region. Schools will ask voters to approve operate funds. And, Ohioans will vote on a handful of statewide issues, including a payday lending ban and a casino/resort in Southwest Ohio.
Choosing not to vote is your right. But, just in case something changes your mind between now and Nov. 4, be sure to make it to your local board of elections office today to register.
