Letter: City putting money toward wrong street
I just finished reading the first section of Friday’s newspaper and glanced up and down on B section. I read the one article, “Roads sacrificed for streetscape.” I cleaned my glasses off and read it again. What’s wrong with this town? Putting out $7.37 million on a not-so-well-traveled street so the kids can get to South Middle School.
The city already has two underpasses on those tracks. Why don’t they put in walkovers with fencing on them? The main corridor through Lima is state Routes 309/117, Bellefontaine Avenue, where all the trucks come in and go out. Yes and kids go to Senior High and Freedom Elementary schools. They get held up on these tracks also. Vine Street is not the major thoroughfare. Come on, Lima, take it back to the drawing board.
